SLOVAKIA TRAVEL, the national organization dedicated to promoting Slovak tourism, is diligently preparing a captivating showcase of Slovakia for the World Expo in Osaka, Japan, taking place from 13 April to 13 October 2025. The presentation aims to highlight Slovakia’s unique appeal in a professional and engaging manner, boost tourism in distant markets, and foster business and investment opportunities through this esteemed global event.
The World Expo serves as a dynamic platform to celebrate advancements in science, technology, innovation, culture, trade, entrepreneurship, and tourism. Slovakia is committed to participating as a distinguished exhibitor, ensuring a seamless and impactful representation. Experts at SLOVAKIA TRAVEL are crafting an engaging and thoughtfully curated exhibition to showcase the nation’s diverse offerings to the world.
“We base our exhibition on nine thematic areas. These are: 1. wine, 2. cultural heritage, 3. clean industry, 4. health and innovation, 5. sport, 6. regional tastes, 7. water, 8. learning through play, 9. art. Each area will be developed in detail, so that all the visitors to the Slovak pavilion will find something to their liking every time they visit and will take away positive experiences associated with Slovakia, which they will then further spread,” said Ivana Vala Magátová, General Director of SLOVAKIA TRAVEL as well as Commissioner General of the Slovak exhibition for EXPO 2025 in Osaka.
In preparation, SLOVAKIA TRAVEL has sought valuable feedback from Japanese visitors to understand their interests and tailor the presentation accordingly. The selected themes for Slovakia’s showcase are directly inspired by this input, ensuring relevance and resonance with the audience.
“Castles, chateaux, UNESCO monuments, quality wine or honey are the things the Japanese identify with Slovakia. We also perceive a forum of this international format as an excellent opportunity to exchange information between exhibitors,” emphasised Ivana Vala Magátová.
A special highlight of Slovakia’s participation will be its National Day, scheduled for 10 September 2025, offering a unique opportunity to celebrate the country’s culture and achievements on the global stage.
“Through its participation in the Expo in Osaka, Slovakia wants to attract more Japanese tourists, investors, and business partners to our country,” said Ivana Vala Magátová, explaining the goal of the event and Slovakia’s participation in it.
As Slovakia’s national tourism organization, SLOVAKIA TRAVEL remains dedicated to enhancing tourism domestically and internationally, solidifying Slovakia’s position as a must-visit destination.
